A Comment/Review on Altoid Lover’s “Primrose Path”

Another Sunday reading a new author for the first time. As the title of this post goes, today’s choice fell on Altoid Lover’s Primrose Path. Synopsis below:

Prim’s husband Michael is much more agreeable after her friend Stacy has a talk with him.

This was a strange story. Good, but strange. In order for you to understand what I mean by that, I’ll need to go over some of the plot details first so here goes. Prim and Michael just had a baby and because of that she hasn’t been feeling in the mood for sex. She also feels like she isn’t paying enough attention to her needs – which is true – and is getting increasingly frustrated as a result. In order to make things right, Stacy converses with Michael and hypnotizes in the process, turning him into a more attentive man, one who is willing to do anything to take care of his wife and please her, even if it involves having her be fucked by other men.

Seems pretty straightforward, right? Well, here’s the thing: it really isn’t because of two things: firstly, we never get to “see” Stacy talking to Michael. She just tells her friend she did and we immediately switch gears to having a more attentive husband. Secondly, Prim’s new fantasies after Michael becomes docile never really go anywhere. They end up just being a pretext to show how much he really cares for her now and by the end of the tale, Prim is pregnant again and they’re quite happy together.

This story is strange to me because it subverted my expectations twice. I was hoping to see the hypnosis taking place and I didn’t and I was hoping to hate Primrose for becoming a bitch after her husband was tamed and I didn’t because the cuckolding fantasies never came to be. I wasn’t too fond of the first scenario, but really liked the second. It was nice to have a happy ending rooted on love and the pure power of imagination.

There are some sex scenes here and there but they remain at the bottom list of my priorities when it comes to these. I like a good tale which can surprise me in some way and this one sure did. Certainly an interesting experiment. If you like things that are out of the ordinary when it comes to erotic mind control stories, do check this one out.
