A Comment/Review on Milo Minderbinder’s “Live Session”
It’s almost dinner time around here. Spent pretty much all Sunday writing and editing new stuff but, before taking a much needed break, I decided to read Milo Minderbinder’s latest addition to the EMCSA, the story entitled Live Session. Synopsis goes as follows:
James, who has been conditioned over the phone for a year by Zusa, gets to meet her in person.
At the moment I’m writing this, this piece is incorrectly tagged at the Archive, appearing as an MD (Male Dominant) story instead of FD (Female Dominant) one. I knew right away that was the case because I’m familiar with the author’s tastes and previous output and that description in no way suggests a tale where a man gets to have the final say in things. It doesn’t and, unless his tastes change considerably, I honestly don’t see him writing an MD erotic mind control story anytime soon.
Anyway, on to the piece. It has all of Milo’s quirky writing traits as well as his love of Hypnotic Financial Domination. His version of Zusa – who appeared on other pieces in the past, some of which I also read and commented at the time is as devious as it gets, which makes sense seeing as she considers James her toy and toys are meant to be played with. Without giving anything away, three times the main character tries to get a live session with this skilled Domme, and three times he’s tricked into pretty much not experiencing anything at all just for her amusement.
The way the sequence of events is written is mostly meant for laughs and in a way it works though I wasn’t much of a fan of it by the time it was over. The way I see it, and despite being a toy, James should have had some sort of break at the end instead of yet another half-truth, half-denial type of deal which only fuels his obsession. I guess it definitely cements her power but, seeing the overall tone is a lighthearted one, I would have preferred a lighthearted end as well. Seeing as Financial Domination isn’t a kink of mine, the last few paragraphs strike me as particularly mean rather than hot.
Certainly not my favorite story of Milo’s precisely because the way it ends. I like cruel bitches to an extent but in this case it’s particularly jarring. However, I shouldn’t be surprised as I know him well. This is his jam, his bread and butter, and his stories aren’t the same without this particular flavor attached to them. If you’re like him and enjoy the prospect of constant financial draining by an intellectually superior female, you’ll love this story. Unfortunately for me what enjoyment I had at first, waned a little by the time I reached the last line.
Thank you for reading.
