A Comment/Review on One-eyedstranger ‘s “Interview with a Hypnotherapist”
One-eyedstranger makes his debut at the EMCSA. Having seen some work from this artist before in the form of captions/photo-stories like the ones I create on a daily basis, I was curious to see how a longer story would play out. I’m talking about Interview with a Hypnotherapist. Synopsis below:
A reporter has a very strange interview with the popular new hypnotherapist in town.
As simple as it is, the line above is quite telling and sets the tone right away. The main character is an unnamed reporter – perhaps the author? – and the hypnotist in question, Dr. Marisa Silver, a.k.a. Risa. Having started her business only two months ago, she is the talk of the town and patients rush to her to treat their hypnosis addictions. Yes, the idea of using hypnosis to treat an hypnosis addiction is something that may seem baffling – the reporter agrees! – but that’s the premise. Of course, there’s more to it.
The story comprises mostly dialogue between the two. Descriptions are sparse and there’s a dreamy feeling pervading it all especially when Risa does her thing and takes complete control. The conversational induction is fun to follow, doesn’t overstay its welcome and, naturally, she wins with a bit of confusion along the way. This is a femdom hypnosis piece, after all.
I like the little innuendo that she’s not entirely ethical in her practice for, despite being a common trope in this type of literature, it’s a hot fantasy nonetheless. I certainly had my fun with the concept and how everything plays out. Post-hypnotic amnesia is not something I can say I particularly enjoy and yet, in scenarios such as these, it totally works.
All in all, a fun little taste of one-eyedstranger’s fantasies in a longer format. I wish it had been a little longer still but I have a feeling I haven’t seen the last of this therapist. More stories with her coming? I hope so.
Thank you for reading.
