A Comment/Review on sleepingirl’s “John and Lisa”
It’s Valentine’s. There’s no EMCSA update this week and I needed something to read. Fellow author and friend Me-chan suggested I had a go at this one on my Discord server last night and so I did. Sleepingirls’s John and Lisa is a 2018 commission that was posted to the Read Only Mind website in early January this year. Synopsis below:
A barista meets a gorgeous woman at his shop, and she flirts with him, takes him to lunch, tells him that she’s an erotic hypnotist.
This was quite sweet and, after reading it, I understand why me-chan suggested it to me. I’m no stranger to going dark in my stories but reading feel-good narratives especially on this day where we celebrate romance and love is a good thing.
I could relate to both characters – John and his shyness, as well as Lisa and her sweet yet completely commanding tones. I particularly enjoyed how she took control of the situation right from the start, overcoming his mental barriers little by little. Everything in this tale flows pretty well and while we get to know more of John than Lisa, there’s still an undeniable sense of who these characters are, and what they really want/need. She’s clearly a gentle Domme, but there’s no doubt whatsoever she can be more than that at any time.
The story is a simple narrative told in primarily three acts. On the first, boy meets girl at the cafe he works on, girl orders a coffee, and slips in a suggestion for him to call her, which he does; on the second, they go out to lunch, a date where she puts him under several times, slowly addicting to the sensation of letting go for her; and on the third, they go to his apartment and her control comes full circle as Lisa rewards him for his suggestibility by making him cum while entranced. Praise is a weapon of choice in getting him aroused and obedient and works like a charm because men are quite simple that way.
Like I said earlier, everything in the story flows (pun intended now that you know the end). There is no padding, no purple prose that detracts from the tale it’s trying to tell, just a hypnotic/romantic connection between two people where one is naturally dominant and has the power of hypnosis to make her control feel irresistible and one who has “sub” written all over him and can’t escape her seductive web even if he wanted to. A fun story, one I heartily recommend as well now, hence the primary reason for this post. Go check it out.
Thank you for reading.
