Bad News
Paul opened his eyes, the bright lights of the hospital bedroom almost rendering him blind. Almost six hundred years had passed since he had been frozen and locked up underground.
“He’s coming to,” Nurse Robbins said.
“Where… where am I?” he muttered.
“Good morning, Mr. Hayes,” a blonde woman in her early fifties said. “You’re at Sacred Mercy Hospital. We had to bring you here after your containment unit failed. The good news is that you won’t be locked up again. The bad, however…”
The good doctor produced a metal collar with bright colored lights running across its length and continued. “… is that with the latest technological advancements, we now have portable brainwashing machines. You will be reprogrammed immediately for all your past offenses against women. Goodbye.”
Paul screamed in bed as his brain melted away.
