Bonus Story – Great Party

Bonus Stories are special features posted at the end of each month (depending on total pledges) and available to all patrons from the get-go. Bonus Stories are exclusive to my Patreon for the time being. While I may decide to release them publically in the future, as I do with the regular Saturday Stories, for now, this is how things go.

This month’s piece is entitled Great Party. Wendy is visited by a friend who wants her to go to a Halloween party with her, but Rachel is no longer the woman she used to know. This is a Halloween supernatural mind-control story with vampires.

“Great party, isn’t it?”
Wendy repeated the iconic line from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, one of many that never stopped sending shivers down her spine. She had seen the movie over twenty times, and it remained her favorite. This was horror at its best, a deep delve into the psychology of evil and a man losing himself to the influence of outside forces. She adored the original book as well and appreciated the differences between them without going into heated arguments about which version of the story was the best. They were both masterpieces, period.

The college senior majoring in Psychology was a beautiful, brown-eyed brunette of Colombian descent. Her real name was Wenda, but she preferred the American version even long falling in love with the character created by Stephen King. Even her parents and baby had stopped using her birth name and she was thankful for it.

The TV was on in her one-bedroom apartment near campus. The place she was living in wasn’t great, but it served its purpose. Once she graduated, she wanted to move closer to her family once again, and perhaps take residence in a fixer-upper she could turn into her dream home. Some believed it was an impossible dream given the state of the economy and the amount of debt she had already amassed to pay for tuition, but she never stopped believing. She was an optimistic and hard-working soul. As long as she played her role, the universe would always be on her side.

It was a little past 8 p.m. and her sexy nurse costume was still hanging on the bedroom door.
