Character Assassination
Day 107 of Spell… B-O-U-N-D’s Femdom Hypnosis and Mind Control 55 Words Stories Challenge 2023, Character Assassination is a piece about writing.
Character Assassination
“Why did you turn Jenny into a bloodthirsty witch? This is character assassination!” Paula screamed.
“Wrong! I created her. I can do whatever I want,” Billy replied.
“But I thought…”
“You think too much.”
“You too.”
Six months and plenty of drugs later, Jenny’s no longer a witch. The slave writer works day and night.
How this story came to be
I don’t get a lot of feedback regarding my work but, when I do, every now and then, I find myself reading “complaints” about the way a certain storyline progressed or what happened to a particular character. Yes, I’ve been accused of “character assassination” on several occasions which I find somewhat hilarious. I understand that people sometimes get attached to certain scenarios and whatnot but my characters are my own and what I decide to do with them concerns me and nobody else. If I were working with someone else’s characters and did something that contradicted everything they stood for, then yes, in that case, I would be guilty of such a “crime”, but in the case of my works, that doesn’t apply at all.
Yes, in some of my stories, characters evolve in unexpected ways, but that’s how creativity and imagination go. If everything stays the same all the time, then what’s the point? However, for the sake of this particular fantasy, change is unacceptable, so I played with it.
I hope you had fun. Until tomorrow.
