Chauffeur
“Alexandra?”
“Yes, General?”
“Did you buy a new car?”
“Yes, I did.”
“Why? Didn’t you say you were going to quit driving?”
“I can’t have a chauffeur without a car.”
“I see. Who’s the unlucky bastard this time around?”
“I’m glad you asked…”
He spends more time behind the wheel than behind the desk now.
How this story came to be
This was inspired by something I saw during my nightly walk with my dog. There was a woman inside an Uber who very much looked like the way I envision Alexandra. She was sitting in the back and it almost looked like she was barking commands at the driver. Seeing that take place gave me the idea for this one.
