A Comment/Review on Milo Minderbinder’s “How to Avoid the High Cost of Halloween”
Yet another fun story from Milo, one I remember reading an earlier incarnation of back in the old Inraptured site. How to Avoid the High Cost of Halloween features the struggle of a man – Roger – against a very different kind of witch. Her name is Diana and she happens to be into money.
I shouldn’t be surprised with such a development given I know how much he loves his Hypnotic Financial Domination tales although I could have sworn that wasn’t in the first version I read. Then again, it’s been a while and my memory plays tricks on me all the time so… I’m sure the references early on regarding the most popular Halloween costumes have been updated at least. What else is new, I’m not sure but I like the way things flow.
Something of particular note regarding this one is that it has a happy ending. Usually, evil mind-controllers get their way but not in this case. Without spoiling how things go, I’ll just say that the witch doesn’t win this time around. Now, I understand that for those of you who enjoy the dark side of fantasy, this revelation may prove to be a bit of a disappointment but this isn’t a hardcore tale at all but something light-hearted and, frankly, I love that it ends the way it did, mostly because I’m an animal lover, too. At a little over 1500 words, you can read it in 5 minutes or less and simply have a good time. In fact, why don’t you do it now?
Okay, that’s it regarding this piece but if you want to read about seductive sirens who have no trouble draining minds and wallets away no matter the cost to their hypnotic subjects/servants, then check out the collection of short stories below. Different aliases, same author, all fun. You’re supporting yet another writer of mind control erotica if you do and the more stories out there the better, don’t you agree?
Thank you for reading.
