A Comment/Review on Chrysostomon’s “Red Flag”
Time for another comment/review. I would love to do these regularly once more but finding the time (and motivation) for it can be a bit tough, nowadays. Still, let’s give it a go while we can this time with Chrysostomon’s Red Flag which was posted at the EMCSA website yesterday. Chrysostomon is quite the prolific author as evidenced by the more than 100 stories posted already. However, since so few of them are Femdom-themed, I believe this is a first for me.
Anyway, the synopsis of the tale goes as follows:
A government agency uses a genetically modified resource to combat targets.
It’s certainly an intriguing little description. In just 11 words, it gets people thinking things like “what government agency?”, “what kind of genetic modifications are we talking about?”, “what targets?”. It also gets you wondering if the tale will have more of an espionage vibe, sci-fi, both, etc. I had lots of ideas in my mind when I started reading it, none of which turned out to be true though.
It’s definitely a sci-fi piece with lots of references that evoke a society similar yet so different from ours. Unified Sections of America (USA) was my favorite. This society is somewhat oppressive as people are monitored for small stuff and dealt with even if their threat level is quite vague. That’s what happens in this one with the tech being used resembling a sort of clone grown specifically to interact the subject and… spoilers ahead… literally fuck him to death.
Yeah, that’s the gist of it. Like I said above, I thought of all sorts of things before reading this one but Polymorph Units with pheromone coating that fuck their targets was not one of them. The concept is somewhat intriguing though the story certainly takes a dark turn when… nah, that would ruin the surprise so…
All in all, I liked the world building in it and was genuinely surprised by the way things played out, especially the overarching conspiracy angle at the end. Some of the prose felt a bit too simple and stilted for me but your mileage may vary. Still enjoyable though I would have preferred some more development through and through.
Thanks for reading.
