Devotion
The last candle died out. The ritual was complete but Daniel was in tears.
“It didn’t work!” he fell to his knees.
“Are you sure?” a silky voice echoed in the nocturnal breeze.
Daniel looked up and saw her, enveloped in golden light. The Goddess had come, wearing his wife’s face.
Devotion filled his eyes.
How this story came to be
Feeling better than yesterday but not at 100% yet. Still, now that the weekend is here, I’ll have some more time to relax and that always helps. This was a nocturnal impromptu with a supernatural vibe because that’s what I wanted to write about.
