Empty Wallet
Enrique stared at his empty wallet.
“I should have at least six hundred dollars in here…” he muttered.
“Eight hundred, but who’s counting?” Maria grinned.
“You spent it all?”
“No, you did, when you bought me these shoes.”
“I don’t remember that.”
“And you never will…” she touched his forehead. Amnesia triggers were the best!
How this story came to be
No particular source of inspiration behind this one. I wrote several ideas that came to mind during my lunch break and chose one randomly to be today’s challenge piece. As you know, hypnotic amnesia is not my thing at all but I have no qualms about writing pieces where it’s prevalent because this is fiction after all.
And that’s how the cookie crumbles.
