Evacuation
General Matthews looked through his binoculars. There were a dozen light trails in the sky, all coming their way.
“Is there anything else we can try?” he asked.
“Negative,” Major Lewis replied. “We need to start evacuating right now.”
“God help us all…” the Major sighed as The New Amazonian Movement’s hypnotic missiles drew closer.
How this story came to be
Playing with an idea I’ve used a few times in the past, namely hypnotic bombs/missiles. In the fictional history of the New Amazonian Movement – NAM, for short – these weapons of war are some of their favorite tools to take over thousands of minds at a time. One of the ideas I toyed with a while back involved describing in detail one such strike, but I never got to it, and I’m not sure if I ever will. In the meantime, the NAM’s legacy lives in these snippets.
