Everything She Wants…
Everything she wants, she gets.
It started when she told me my haircut looked ridiculous. To impress her, I went bald and she started shaving my thoughts ever since.
She wanted me to find new friends, so I ditched the old ones in a heartbeat. I didn’t like any of the people she introduced me to, but I loved her.
She wanted a fur coat for the Winter. I killed the foxes myself. I still can’t forgive myself for that, yet she was happy and nothing else mattered.
She wanted a new sports car. Blue. All the extras. I took on a second mortgage to buy it for her birthday. For the first time in many months, she looked at me with genuine admiration. It was everything she wanted and what she wants…
She didn’t want to crash and burn though, I’m sure of it. The flaming tongues on the world’s longest highway still haunt my dreams but that’s not the worst part.
All the mirrors, all the knives, even the poker stick by the fireplace call out my name. She’s lonely somewhere between Heaven and Hell. She doesn’t want to be alone.
I want to leave this house, forget her remnants once and for all but the past is still alive, and the future is already set in stone. This blue pen shall write in red.
Everything she wants, she gets.
