Change of Career
“So you want a change of career?” Kathy asked.
“Correct,” Vincent nodded.
“A job where you don’t have to think much, if at all?”
“Yes.”
“And preferably with a woman boss?”
“Indeed. Do you have anything like that?”
She gave him an mp3 player, a pair of headphones, and a contract. It read “My hypno-slave.”
We all think of changing something in our lives. We all want something different, something more. I’m no exception because I’m human after all and one of the things I want most in this world is to have this site, this little wave of creativity in the vast ocean of the Internet to become something greater. Spell… B-O-U-N-D is my dream and I want to fight for it. I wrote this piece while thinking of all the changes necessary for something like that to happen. It’s a beautiful dream and I cherish it. Hopefully, I’m able to make it grow.
Not Allowed
“Fuck you!” Jonathan exclaimed.
“No, fuck you!” Dylan played along.
“How about you all go fuck yourselves?” Mark laughed out loud.
Only Christian said nothing, eyes cast down, looking at some imaginary point between his legs.
“Why are you so quiet, bud?” Jonathan eventually asked.
“My Hypnodomme doesn’t allow me to fuck anyone,” Christian muttered.
I felt like going silly again and the word “fuck” kept bouncing in my mind for some strange reason. I even considered calling the piece “Fuck You” but then I thought it would be quite weird for anyone subscribing to this site via e-mail to get something like that on their inbox. I think I made the right choice. I don’t how long Christian’s current predicament is going to last but, hopefully, the one controlling his mind and body, will prove merciful.
A Knight Falls
Sir Bedric crawled through the dirt, ashamed. Honor had led him on a daring rescue mission but not even honor could save him from a trap. The dark sorceress tittered, weaving wordless incantations. The paladin felt his neck ablaze, his eyes whitening.
“My knight in shining collar,” she cooed before dragging him to her crypt.
I was shopping today and thinking about fantasy tropes at the same time when this idea came to me. I actually scribbled the first draft which was about 63 words on the shopping list I was holding before making the necessary adjustments to conform to the guidelines of this challenge.
If this were a male dominant piece, I could have used the trope of “shining armor” as a mind-control device and the sorceress would have become a damsel in distress being turned into an obedient plaything but that’s not really how we roll around here and I actually think “knight in shining collar” is a funny little variation on it all. Lucky bastard!
Publishing Deal
“Mr. Marks, we will publish your story provided you make the following changes. The main character must be a man, and he must be hypnotically enslaved by a woman instead of enslaving one,” Darla Roberts of H. F. M. Dom Publishers said.
“So… change everything, apparently?” He asked, dumbfounded.
“Starting with your mind,” she concluded.
The inspiration for this one was the lengths author go to in order to get their works published. Although there is no explicit mind control in the flow of it all, it’s certainly there, starting with the suggestions made, and ending with the Publisher’s House name. You already know I’m silly when it comes to these and I plan on continuing being so. I hope you enjoyed this piece.
