A Pair

Gavin sat by the door, empty, defeated, wanting nothing or no one.
“You really fried his mind this time,” Nadine said.
“Yep,” Wanda agreed.
“Did he want this?”
“Not really, but you have to admit he makes a good ornament.”
“A pair would be better.”
“You’re right,” Wanda drew a pocket watch from her cleavage.

Back to dark fantasy territory. I thought of doing something early for Valentine’s Day but decided against it in favor of the first idea that came to mind which turned out to be this. Not really any fetish of mine, but there are those who enjoy this type of thing, so…

If you were turned into a hypnotic ornament, what would you like to be? A vase? A lamp? A coffee table? Feel free to let me know in the comments.

Harry’s Routine

Harry’s routine was unbreakable. Every day at 7 pm he sat on a park bench, waiting for the impossible.
“Why does he do that?” Gloria asked.
“Mistress Aurora programmed him that way,” Luke replied.
“But isn’t she…?”
“Dead? Yes. It’s been two years but his mind still hasn’t processed it, so…”
The two friends sighed.

This is probably not the kind of piece you were expecting to see on Valentine’s Day, but I was reminded of something today that made me go down this route. Twenty-two years ago, my grandfather on my mother’s side, died. He was the last remaining grandfather of mine, the only one I truly knew, and I loved him dearly. His passing was unexpected and caused a lot of distress to my family, as expected.

In good honesty, I never liked Valentine’s Day that much because of all the commercial aspects tied to it, and with a death in the family, well… My thoughts today were a bit erratic and they bled out into the piece.

I wish you all a good day.

Failed Run

Mark laid the controller on the floor. “Not again!” he said.
“Another failed run?” Pamela asked.
“Yeah. I’m always hypnotized by a vampire on the 13th floor. Rogue-like, my ass!”
“Don’t complain. You love hypnosis.”
“True, but…”
“Next time will be different.”
She was right. He was hypnotized by a vampire on the 1st floor.

I recently told you about how I was playing Grindstone in short bursts. Well, after reaching the last level, I got myself another small affair bought on sale for €2 a few weeks back in the form of Dicey Dungeons. Trailer below.

It’s a humorous rogue-like where luck and strategy play a huge role. I haven’t made it very far in it yet, although I’ve already unlocked five of the six playable characters. I usually stray from rogue-likes because I prefer more structured play instead of randomly generated levels but the presentation was fun enough to convince me, so…

Anyway, if I were in charge of designing a rogue-like, I would do it in a fantasy setting with lots of enemies having mind-control abilities and whatnot. I decided to play with that idea in today’s story.

Salty

Walter stared in awe at the video on Gemma’s phone. There he was, kneeling before her next to his brother.
“When did this happen?” he asked.
“Yesterday.”
“But we weren’t together yesterday.”
“The camera doesn’t lie. You’re both wonderful subjects… and here comes the best part.”
“Fuck!” he exclaimed. No wonder his mouth tasted salty!

Late night impromptu. My day was pretty busy, and I didn’t have much time to be creative, so I wrote the first thing that came to mind, and it turned out to be this mix of hypnotic amnesia and cocksucking, neither of which are things I’m into, but perhaps some of you are and if so, I hope you enjoyed this little snippet.
