Frank popped another candy in his mouth, savoring its exquisite combination of sweet and sour flavors.
“What are those things again?” Marcus asked.
“One of Helen’s specialties. They’re amazing. Why don’t you try one?”
“No, thanks.”
“Why not?”
“Because you seem obsessed with them. You’ve had a dozen in the last half an hour.”
“Did I? Well, whatever… Are you sure you want to miss out?”
“Positive.”
Marcus stayed true to his word for an hour, a day, a week, but one sunny Monday morning, he swiped one off his friend’s bag and…
He eats them all the time now, surrendering one thought for each chocolate delicacy. Gluttony is not a mortal sin, just a mind-controlling one.
