Hypnotic Competition
Tamara swung her favorite pocket watch from left to right and right to left while June stared intently into her aquamarine eyes without blinking. The hypnotic competition had been going on for almost half an hour now and it looked like no one was willing to compromise.
“Why don’t you give up?” Tamara asked, crossing her legs under the kitchen table.
“Why don’t you?” June retorted without breaking eye contact.
“You know I’m going to win so you might as well drop into a trance right now.”
“If you’re so good as you claim, you would have been successful already. I’m not falling for your tricks this time.”
“You’ve fallen so before and you know how easy it is to sink deep for me.”
“So do you. You don’t really stand a chance to resist me no matter how much you try.”
Ever since they had studied hypnosis together a few years back they had taken turns putting one another under just for fun. Tamara had been the first to break her defenses, but June’s skill was unparalleled. The most exciting suggestions had come from her and the same could be said about the deepest trances. She wasn’t going to lose the bet no matter what.
The rules of the challenge were simple: whoever succumbed to the other one’s hypnotic charms would have to obey her commands for the weekend. Limits would be respected of course, but everything else was on the table including some risky fantasies never tried before. In Tamara’s case, that meant playing the role of a cat and learning how to use the litter box to keep her friend happy, while June would undoubtedly be forced to wear a latex maid’s outfit and entertain her family until they had enough. As fun as those ideas could be, no one would ever admit going into them willingly.
After so much banter, they were both getting tired. The next couple of minutes would be crucial to determine who the rightful winner would be.
“I’m going to love seeing you clean the house in that outfit I bought for you,” Tamara chuckled.
“And once you try cat food, you’ll be addicted to it for the rest of your life,” June smirked.
“You’re going down with the pocket watch…”
“You can’t stop staring into my eyes…”
“Deeper…”
“… and deeper…”
“… and deeper…”
“… and deeper…”
“Completely powerless and under my control…”
“Unable to do anything but follow my commands.
“You will…”
“… obey me…”
“Sleep…”
“… now!”
Tamara and June dropped together, their heads bobbing like dolls, dreamy eyes basking in each other’s mesmeric radiance. They drifted for a moment in a pool of bliss and then suddenly snapped out of it, united in the same realization that it had all been a bust.
“Well, that was embarrassing,” Tamara said.
“But it was funny,” June laughed as her thoughts began to clear.
“Who won?”
“Does it matter?”
“Yeah. Round two?”
“You’re not going to win.”
“We’ll see about that.”
It was going to be an entertaining weekend.
