How this story came to be
It’s April 1st. It was my mother’s birthday and we spent some time together today, and that’s no lie. This piece is only marginally-related to the date because of the expression “you can’t make a fool out of me.” I guess Mark didn’t know what he was talking about since he even became a woman by the end.
I tried coming up with a good fib to share with you all but couldn’t. Creativity is still here, but I have no jokes in me at the moment after all the unexpected expenses I had last month.
Do you know what would be quite the joke? If I sold at least one book every day of the month. That has never happened, and I’ve been publishing stuff for a while. It would be nice to experience that at least once. A pipe dream, I know, but dreams are still free.
Anyway, do you like April Fools? Do you find the stories people and businesses share entertaining or just a colossal waste of time? I enjoy it to an extent, but didn’t see any good ones today. Maybe next time.
