Last-Minute Shopping
The same set of Christmas carols blared through the speakers of the largest retail store in the world, reminding everyone that the holiday cheer was as good as nauseating when repeated to exhaustion. Rowan ignored them at first, focused only on his shopping spree, but as time went by and frustration reared its ugly head, he felt his hands growing restless with a desire to choke someone unless the music stopped for good.
An advertisement for a last-minute promotion gave him enough of a cooler to his troubling thoughts, yet his predicament continued. He was nowhere finished with his list and his patience to keep going had long left the building.
It was his fault, of course. With seven days off in December, he couldn’t complain about lack of time to do things right, but that’s how he always rolled. Procrastination was more than a personality trait, – it ran in his blood. He always allowed projects and relationships to fall behind, so why wouldn’t he do the same with Christmas presents? Family and friends already knew what to expect and if he got bored halfway through, well…
Some products on his list were no longer available, as expected. With no imagination left in him, he ran through the shelves of the giant store choosing random replacements with little thought. The biggest offender was a flaming-shaped neon lava lamp no one in their right frame of mind would want in their house, and he had the audacity to pick up three. The moment he reached his spending threshold, he drove the cart to the nearest register and prayed to the heavens to get out of there as quickly as possible.
His aspirations were immediately thwarted when he saw her smiling at him. Denise, a.k.a. Goddess Sinn online was a skilled manipulatrix, hypnodomme, and financial dominatrix he had fallen madly in love with the year before, a porcelain beauty with striking violet eyes and lashes so hypnotic that looking at them was enough to make his cock hard. With her low-cut pink top and tight vinyl skirt, she oozed temptation from every pore. Her cart was filled with luxurious appliances and beauty products, most of which were two or three times more expensive than the total of his shopping.
“Shit!” he thought as she waved, fingered rings doing a number on his imagination. A flurry of past triggers and suggestions she had used to condition him to her will spoke to the innermost recesses of his subconscious.
“What a surprise seeing you here, Rowan,” she giggled. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing, Denise,” he mumbled, suppressing the ever-growing desire to treat her by her rightful title.
“Really?” she rubbed her right hand against the trolley handle. “Because it seems to me you’ve forgotten to do your shopping again and are now making it up as you go. You couldn’t have found something uglier to buy?” She picked up one of the flamingo lamps and tossed it dismissively to the floor.
“I…”
“Shh, it’s okay,” she cooed. “I can see you’re stressed and confused, which is why it’s a good thing you ran into me right now. Wouldn’t it be better if you were to spend your hard-earned cash on something, or rather someone, that truly matters?”
“No. I’m not doing this again with you, Denise. You’ve had your fun with me, but now it’s time to…”
“Drop deep?” she snapped her perfect fingers and watched him fall into a state of bumbling incoherence before everyone’s eyes. “Yes, it sure is. Deeper and deeper, down where you belong. Confused thoughts need to be tucked away and go to sleep so that only the right ones remain. I have so many good things here waiting for a slave to buy them for me and this is your chance. Thank me for the honor and follow me with your credit card in your mouth, Rowan.”
“Thank you, Goddess,” he sighed, helplessly lost in her entrancing web. Whatever money he had saved over the last twelve months was now forfeit. Indifferent to his humiliating behavior, he drooled on the silver plastic card and welcomed the opportunity to make her as happy as she deserved. It was the best gift of all.
