Mara’s friend Joan was a hypnotist.
Joan liked to hypnotize Mara when she least expected to be put under.
Sometimes, it was with a phone call. Other times, a simple text message.
On rare occasions, she would write a story and have one of the sentences end with the word… “Sleep!”

How this story came to be
Just a funny impromptu born out of the idea of using a story as a trigger. I wasn’t quite sure how to do it until I started writing it and the meta quality of it all revealed itself naturally. Would you fall for a trick like this or not?
