Needles
Rita felt the needles drawing closer. Ten needles, one hundred needles, a thousand needles.
They pierced her flesh, pushed inside her brain. She wanted to scream, but she was frozen, staring into nothingness.
And the needles pushed deeper, deeper… and her world shrunk and declined.
The lobotomized slave sank to her knees, ready to obey.
How this story came to be
I had another one of my crazy dreams last night. As usual, I don’t remember much of it, except it involved needles – lots and lots of needles, and there was some sort of fetish acupuncture going on. I woke up before realizing what was happening but that single piece of imagery got stuck in my mind – pun intended! – and so I wrote this to evoke that feeling.
