Not Tonight
There was a storm raging outside and one inside Mark’s house. On one hand, gale force winds and heavy rain; on the other, his girlfriend Annie wanting to hypnotize him and turn him into her bitch for the twenty-fifth time in twenty-five days.
“Not tonight!” he muttered, opening the front door. He embraced the flood.
How this story came to be
Two storms hit my country (and the city where I live) back to back. First, we had Eowyn and now we have Hermínia (Hermione, in English). The weather has been really and my Internet connection has been spotty in the last couple of days because of it. I wrote this one on a whim after having to venture outside for some grocery shopping. While struggling to hold on to my umbrella, I started thinking what other reasons could take a man to go outside when he was perfectly safe indoors? This silly idea came to me and became one of the few pieces where the hypnotist doesn’t “win”, though it’s likely he’ll be back inside soon enough and then…
