“Yes, General?”
“Why do all our interactions begin the same way?”
“Because people like patterns… or triggers if you will.”
“So this is a trigger?”
“Absolutely. When those words come up, something weird happens.”
“There’s nothing weird about this conversation.”
“Breaking the fourth wall isn’t weird? Good to know.”

How this story came to be
I love silly humor. I grew up watching screwball comedies like Blazing Saddles, Airplane!, The Naked Gun, Spaceballs, Top Secret!, Hot Shots, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Scary Movie, among others. That kind of nonsense is right up my alley and it’s a shame that nowadays there aren’t that many good comedies to be found. One of the things I love the most about movies like this is when characters break the fourth wall. Deadpool does it a lot but those movies, while funny, aren’t exactly my favorites because I’m not into superheroes that much.
When I write these Alexandra pieces, I always do so with humorous intent in mind. Some of the situations she gets involved in are so absurd they would be right at home in a screwball comedy. It was only a matter of time until she broke the fourth wall too. Well, it’s done. I’d be extremely careful around her if I were you. After all, you already know the games she likes to play, right?
