Immortality
Emily stared at her new face. She was a redhead! She had always wanted to be one.
“It worked!” she exclaimed.
“I told you it would,” Rebecca avidly kissed her lover.
“And the host’s soul?”
“Gone. Transferred to your old carcass just as it was expiring.”
“Excellent!” Emily grinned. Immortality was going to be perfect.
How this story came to be
Not in a good mood today and when that happens, I tend to write darker stuff. After three consecutive humorous pieces to start this year’s challenge, this one comes as a welcome change of pace, I guess.
I’ve written several pieces concerning possession as a form of mind control in the past. This is another and it’s quite a terrifying prospect, methinks. The idea of losing my individuality completely will always be scary to me, even if I write mind-controlling fantasies all the time.
