Saturday Story 2023 – Week 10 (Having Fun)
This new story is now available on my Patreon. It’s a standalone tale born of two ideas I had for flash fiction pieces that I ended up combining into a single piece. Synopsis below:
Craig is kidnapped on the day of his thirtieth birthday but things are not what they seem.

Craig was naked from the waist up and tied to a metal bed frame by sturdy ropes. His arms were spread apart as if he was being crucified or about to. While he could definitely say this was not the worst predicament he had gotten involved in, it was still a far cry from all the fun and extravagant things he hoped to be doing on the night of his thirtieth anniversary.
The house he was in was unfamiliar to him but the feminine touch was undeniable. The sheets were pink and purple, there were cozy pillows everywhere and the air smelled of an exotic vintage perfume like the one his mother used to wear when he was a little boy. It was inviting and yet somewhat creepy, a trip down memory lane that couldn’t possibly have a happy ending.
Craig didn’t know how he had got there. The last thing he remembered was hitting the new club downtown with his cousin Jace and his girlfriend Bella, having a drink at the counter, and then total blackness for at least a couple of hours. Had he been drugged and kidnapped by an unscrupulous party hoping to get a ransom out of him? If so, then they were in for a rude awakening for not only did he not have any money, no one he knew would pay a dime to get him back.
