After a couple of minutes of pure exertion, Rick paused for a moment to wipe his brow with the back of his hand. His gaze flickered towards the neighbor’s house, catching sight of a sleek silver car parked in the driveway. His heart skipped a beat as he recognized the vehicle – a vintage convertible that had always been Theresa’s pride and joy.
And there she was, standing next to it in all her radiant glory. Her beautiful chestnut hair cascaded down her back in gentle waves, catching the sunlight and setting it ablaze with fiery highlights. Emerald eyes sparkled with recognition as she flashed him a dazzling smile that could light up even the darkest corners of his mind. She wore a flowing white sundress that fluttered in the breeze, accentuating her graceful movements and he could almost see a hint of her silk panties underneath.
Rick’s hands slackened on the mower’s handle as memories flooded his mind, transporting him back to a time when Theresa was more than just a stunning vision across the lawn.
They had shared stolen moments under the same sun that now beat down upon him, whispered secrets and dreams that felt like ancient relics buried in the sands of time.
He remembered the first time he saw her, her laughter tinkling like wind chimes on a breeze-filled afternoon. How her smile could make his world brighter, filling every corner with a warmth that chased away the shadows of his mind. The way her hand fit in his, fingers entwined like they were destined to be that way from the beginning of time.
When they were young and carefree, everything was genuine and unbreakable, but fate had a cruel sense of humor, as if their love story had been written in disappearing ink. Life pulled them apart, like two stars hurtling in opposite directions through the vast expanse of the universe. And now, here she stood again, an ethereal presence bathed in sunlight, a reminder of everything that could have been.
As Theresa made her way towards him, Rick’s heart raced in his chest, each step she took echoing like thunder in his ears. He watched as her lips curved into a soft smile, a smile that held a hint of nostalgia and something more, something unspoken yet palpable in the air between them.
