“Eww, gross! Turn it off!” Maria screamed.
“I thought you liked horror movies…” Angela reached for the remote.
“Some, yes, but this is disgusting! Anything would be better than this!”
“Anything?”
“Yes.”
“I’ve got just the thing for you then.” Angela produced a crystal pendant.
Scare them first, mindfuck them later. Her strategy never failed.
How this story came to be
Yesterday (Sunday), I did something I probably shouldn’t have done. I watched Terrifier. Why? Because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. My tolerance to horror movies has been increasing considerably over the years and if I could handle Hereditary, Smile, and Evil Dead Rise, I could handle this, right?
Hmmm, not really. The gore in this one really grossed me out although I can certainly commend the practical effects and the physical performance of the actor playing Art the Clown. I’ve been told the sequel is better but also more violent so I’m going to stop here for now. I was curious at first, but not that curious.
Anyway, bonding over a horror movie is a good excuse for hypnosis, isn’t it? I wrote this lighthearted piece to prove just that.
