Fresh Meat

The fairies circled the weary traveler, luminous wings reflected on his blank eyes.

“It seems we have found another one, ladies.” The brightest of them all said.

“I hope he’s better than the last two.” Another one buzzed. “They were so… skinny.”

“Look at those arms and legs!” A third exclaimed. “Plenty of meat to go around.”

“It won’t be enough for the whole Winter.” The most pragmatic declared.

“We’ll worry about that later… For now, Happy Halloween, sisters!”

Bloody teeth rained down on him.
